This file is a memo from a salesperson who loves cliches. The text
follows.
Now, folks, I can tell that you're the salt of the earth, and you
want a square deal and no beating around the bush. In this day and
age it's a dog's life out there in the rat race every day, being a
wage slave for the Almighty dollar. Believe me, folks, I know what
it's like to have to rob Peter to pay Paul. And finding the right
car to fill the bill can be like looking for a needle in a
haystack. But you've come to the right place -- I'm your friend in
need.
Here's a beauty of a machine that'll be the apple of your eye.
This is a modern classic. You could search the corners of the
earth and not find a sweeter deal. You can't have a more reliable
car for love or money. When you drive this off the lot, you'll
feel glad to be alive, just like you're walking on air. Get in
behind that wheel and stretch your legs. Isn't that like sitting
in the lap of luxury? That should relieve the stress and strain of
the rush-hour commute. You'll feel like a pig in clover driving
this down the street.
Quite frankly, this car is a steal. Mark my words, there's more
than meets the eye in this baby. This is a car of no small value.
I'll tell you in no uncertain terms, this is the deal of a
lifetime. Now I wouldn't do this for the rank and file, and the
fact of the matter is, it may be a rash act on my part. I may be
putting myself right out of house and home, but believe it or not,
I'm going to let you have this car for less than I paid for it. I
guess I just have the milk of human kindness flowing in my veins
today. You must lead a charmed life. But take it or leave it, now
or never. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry in town will be beating down
my door to get this car. It'll be a free-for-all when the word
gets out, and this car will be gone in less than no time. Now
that's the honest truth.
